Privacy

This page describes exactly what AskSomeone does today. When that changes, this page changes first.

What we keep

When you ask for something and AskSomeone starts a task, we keep that task: what you wrote, the answers you give, what AskSomeone understood, and a record of each step taken. That is what lets you leave and come back to the same task.

You don’t need an account to ask. To connect your tasks to you, your browser gets one cookie (__Host-as_v) holding a random code. We store only a scrambled form (a SHA-256 hash) of that code, never your name, email or location. Anyone with access to your browser can open your tasks.

If you sign in

Signing in is optional and uses SOMEONE, the sign-in shared by the SOMEONE family of products. AskSomeone receives only an account number from it — not your name, email or passkey. A second cookie (__Host-as_s) keeps you signed in for up to 7 days. When you sign in, the tasks started in that browser move into your account, so you can open them on other devices.

We keep a short record of account events — that you signed in, or deleted your data, with counts — under a scrambled form of your account number, never with the content of your tasks.

What we don’t do

Who processes it

AskSomeone runs on Cloudflare, which stores the task data and handles each request. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes connection details such as your IP address to deliver and protect the site; AskSomeone uses a scrambled form of your IP address only to limit how many requests one connection can make, and does not store it.

To understand what you need, AskSomeone sends what you type to AI models (Meta’s Llama models) that run on Cloudflare’s own network. What you write goes to Cloudflare, which already hosts AskSomeone — not to any other AI company. Each request is sent on its own, with only what that step needs.

Deleting your information

Every task has Delete this task. It permanently removes the task, your answers, the conversation and its activity record. There is no automatic deletion schedule yet; until you delete a task, it is kept.

If you’re signed in, Account → Delete my AskSomeone data permanently deletes all of your AskSomeone tasks and documents and signs you out. AskSomeone then asks SOMEONE to delete your sign-in too; SOMEONE does that only if no other SOMEONE product still uses it.
